  • Call Waiting
    Alerts you with a beep during a telephone conversation that another call is waiting to be answered. It prevents missed calls Callers will hear ringing, after 8 rings it will go to a busy signal. Provides many of the advantages of an additional line, but at a fraction of the cost. To end an existing call and answer a call waiting call: Hang up, then allow telephone to ring and answer it. To hold an existing call and answer a call waiting call: Depress and release the switchhook. To alternate between calls: Depress and release the switchhook. To disconnect call: Hang Up.
  • Speed Calling 8
    Speed Calling 8 allows you to call 8 selected telephone numbers, local or long distance, quickly by dialing an assigned code. Eliminates the need to look up or remember telephone numbers. Saves time when dialing numbers, especially long distance numbers. Allows fast, accurate dialing of emergency numbers. To set up SPEED CALLING 8 list: Lift handset and listen for dial tone. Press 74# for 1-digit SPEED CALLING (codes 2-9) (rotary phones ignore the #key). Listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone. Enter SPEED CALLING code (choose any number 2 through 9). Dial desired telephone number. Press the # key (rotary phones ignore the # key). To use SPEED CALLING: Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone. Dial the desired SPEED CALLING code (2-9), then press the # key (rotary phones ignore the # key). To change SPEED CALLING entries: Repeat the first six steps.
  • Three-Way Calling
    Three-way calling llows you to add a third party to an existing telephone conversation. Reduces the need for callbacks when trying to confirm plans and schedules. Brings family and friends together. To set up a THREE-WAY CALL: Depress and release the switchhook. Listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone (present call is placed on hold). Dial third party's telephone number. If busy or no answer, depress and release the switchhook twice to reconnect first call. After third party answers, depress the switchhook for a three-way call. Note: You may privately converse with a third party as long as you wish before using the switchhook to establish a three-way call. After a three-way call is established, you may depress the switchhook to drop third party at any time. Toll Charges apply to long distance calls.
  • Cancel Call Waiting
    Cancel Call Waiting allows you to cancel call waiting before or during a telephone call. Prevents call waiting interruptions on important calls and long distance calls. Prevents data transmission errors caused by call waiting tones when using computer modems. To cancel Call Waiting before making a call: Lift handset and listen for dial tone. Press *70, then listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone (rotary phones dial 1170). Dial desired telephone number. To cancel Call Waiting during a call (three-way calling feature is required): Depress the switchhook, then listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone. Press *70, then listen for three beeps (rotary phones dial 1170). Wait for automatic reconnection to existing call. Note: when cancel call waiting is activated, caller will hear a busy signal.
  • Speed Calling 30
    Speed Calling 30 allows you to program 30 telephone numbers, local or long distance into your speed calling list. To program your Speed Calling 30 list: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone. Press 75# for 2-digit speed calling (codes 20-49) (rotary phones ignore the # key). Listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone. Enter 2-digit speed calling code (choose any number 20 through 49). Dial desired telephone number. Press the # key (rotary phones ignore the # key). To change Speed Calling entries: Repeat the first six steps. The old numbers will be automatically replaced in the phone's memory with the new number.
  • Automatic Recall
    Automatic Recall allows you to dial a code and have a call automatically returned to the last party who called or attempted to call you. Eliminates the aggravation of rushing to the phone when you are returning from errands or in the shower only to find that the person on the other end has hung up. Makes it easy to return calls that would normally be missed. To use Automatic Recall: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone. Press *69 (rotary phones dial 1169). Listen for an announcement that will tell you the phone number of the party who called you. If you wish to return the call, press 1. To cancel Automatic Recall: Lift the handset and listen for a dial tone. Press *89 (rotary phones dial 1189). Notes: Only the last incoming call can be returned. This feature will not work on 800 or 900 prefixed numbers, international calls, calls to a number with call forwarding active or lines with a non-unique directory number. To use per call blocking on a call placed using Automatic Recall, the customer must activate the per call blocking prior to activating the Automatic Recall feature. This feature will not work in any way on blocked calls.
  • Automatic Callback
    Automatic Callback allows you to dial a code that will automatically redial the last number called from the customer's station. This applies regardless of whether the original call was answered, unanswered, or encountered a busy tone. The system monitors the calling and called lines and attempts to connect the call for up to 30 minutes or until completion or cancellation. Once both lines are idle, a distinctive ringing alerts the customer that the call is ready to be set up. To use Automatic Callback: Press *66 to activate (rotary phones dial 1166) To cancel Automatic Callback: Press *86 to deactivate (rotary phones dial 1186) Call setup is performed when the calling subscriber answers the ringing. This feature will not work on 800 or 900 prefixed numbers, international calls, calls to a number with call forwarding active or lines with a non-unique directory number. To use per call blocking on a call placed using Automatic Callback, the customer must activate the per call blocking prior to activating the Automatic Callback feature.
  • Remote Activation of Call Forwarding
    Remote Activation of Call Forwarding allows you to activate and deactivate Call Forwarding features from a remote directory number. The remote activation capability is optional and can be used in conjunction with any or all of the following Call Forwarding features assigned to a line: Call Forwarding Variable, Call Forwarding Busy Line Variable and Call Forwarding Don't Answer Variable. What remote Activation of Call Forwarding does for you: Eliminates missed calls. Convenience and increased flexibility. Time Savings How to activate Remote Activation of Call Forwarding from a remote location: Dial 573-8888 (7 or 10 digit telephone number for access to Remote Activation of Call Forwarding). Listen for tone; enter your base directory number (for example if you want to activate Call Forwarding on your home telephone number, your home telephone number is your base directory number). Listen for tone; enter your security code (maximum of 12 digits). If you correctly entered your base directory number and security code, you will hear recall dial tone. You may now activate or cancel Call Forwarding. Note: Security code can be telephone company or customer controlled (to change your security code, you must dial *68 [Rotary phone dial 1168]).
  • Selective Call Forwarding
    Selective Call Forwarding allows you to create a list of phone numbers that are to be forwarded when they call you. When you activate this service, and a call arrives from a telephone number that is on your list, the call is forwarded. All other calls will ring your phone in the normal fashion. To use Selective Call Forwarding: Lift the handset and listen for a dial tone. Press*63 (rotary phones dial 1163). Listen to the voice instructions that will guide you through the steps of how to turn Selective Call Forwarding on or off and make changes to your Selective Call Forwarding list. Press 3 to turn feature on or off. Voice instructions will guide you through the steps of how to enter, confirm or change the "forward to" number. Press 1 to confirm the "forward to" number. Press 0 to change the "forward to" number. Press # to add a number to the list (rotary phones dial 12). Press * to delete a number from the list (rotary phones dial 11). Press 1 to review the numbers on the list. Press 0 to repeat the instructions. Press 08 to delete all numbers from list. Note: Does not work on international calls, 500, 800, 855, 866, 877, 888, and 900 numbers, or with calls originating from an area or long distance carrier where this feature is not provided. Toll charges apply on calls forwarded to a long distance telephone number.
  • Call Forwarding
    Call Forwarding allows you to redirect all calls to another telephone number Reduces missed calls. Calls can follow you wherever you go. Eliminates waiting for important calls. Enhances home security when you are away. To forward calls: Lift handset and listen for dial tone. Dial *72, then dial the number to which calls will be forwarded (rotary phones dial 1172). If call is answered, forwarding is set. If call is not answered, dial *72 again and you will hear two beeps. Forwarding is then set. To cancel Call Forwarding: Lift handset and listen for dial tone. Dial *73, then listen for two beeps (rotary phones dial 1173) Hang up. Note: Calls forwarded to long distance telephone numbers will be charged to you. An optional short ring or a distinctive dial tone may be provided as a reminder that CALL FORWARDING is activated. To change the number to which your calls will be forwarded, follow the above procedures.
  • Activate Call Forwarding (after completing the above steps)
    To activate call forwarding (after completing the above steps): To activate CALL FORWARDING, dial *72 (rotary phone dial 1172) and listen for recall dial tone. Enter the number to which you want your calls forwarded. Listen for confirmation tone. You can either hang up or stay on the line, wait for ringing and advise party of call forwarding. To cancel call forwarding: Dial *73 (rotary phone dial 1173). Listen for confirmation tone. Hang up. Note: A touch-tone phone is required to use remote activation of call forwarding.
  • Call Forwarding - Busy Line
    Call forward busy allows you to direct calls to another telephone number when the line is busy. What call forwarding does for you: Reduces missed calls. Calls are answered when your line is busy. Won't miss important calls. To forward calls (variable only): Lift handset and listen for dial tone. Dial *90, then listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone (rotary phones dial 1190). Dial the telephone number to which all calls will be forwarded when your line is busy. Hang up when three beeps followed by dial tone is heard. To cancel call forwarding busy line: List handset and listen for dial tone. Dial *91, then listen for three beeps (rotary phones dial 1191). Hang up. To use call forwarding (fixed): Simply inform the telephone company of the number you wish to forward to. The feature will always be ready to work for you.
  • Call Forwarding - Don't Answer
    Call forwarding don't answer redirects your calls to another phone number if you do not answer your phone within a specified number of rings. To forward calls (variable only): Lift handset and listen for dial tone. Press *92 (rotary phones dial 1192). Listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone. Dial the telephone number to which all calls will be forwarded when your line is not answered. Hang up when three beeps followed by a dial tone is heard. To cancel call forwarding don't answer: Lift handset and listen for dial tone. Press *93 (rotary phones dial 1193). Listen for three beeps. Hang up. To use call forwarding don't answer (fixed): Simply inform the telephone company of the number you wish to forward to. The feature will always be ready to work for you. Note: Toll charges apply on calls forwarded to a long distance telephone number.
  • Personal Ringing
    Personal ringing allows you to have up to three telephone numbers with unique ringing patterns (and unique call waiting tones if you have the feature). Allows you to determine for whom a call is intended (children's number or parent's number. Allows you to determine the type of call (business or personal). Provides many of the advantages of an additional line, but at a fraction of the cost. To use personal ringing: When someone dials your main telephone number, you'll hear normal ringing (on long). When someone dials the second telephone number, you'll hear a special ring that identifies that number (two short). When someone dials the third telephone number, you'll hear a special ring that identifies that number (long, short, long). Wait until the full ring pattern is complete before answering. You'll know how to greet the caller. All billing will appear on the primary directory number.
  • Caller ID - Blocking per Call
    This service is automatically provided free of charge on your telephone line. With this feature, a subscriber is able to place a call without their directory number being delivered and displayed to the called party. To activate calling number delivery blocking: Lift handset and listen for dial tone. Dial *67 (rotary phone dial 1167), then listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone. Dial the telephone number you wish to call and your directory number will not be delivered or displayed to the called party for that call only. Note: The next call you place will deliver your directory number to the called party unless you dial *67 again.
  • Caller ID
    Caller ID lets you see the calling party's phone number before answering a call. To use caller ID, you need a special display phone or a display add-on unit for your existing phone. What caller ID does for you: Allows you to determine who is calling before answering or deciding to answer the phone. Enhances security and helps eliminate harassing calls. Your caller ID display device can store the phone numbers of people who called, even while you were out. You can easily review these numbers and return their calls. To use caller ID: When you receive a call, wait until your telephone completes the second ringing signal. The telephone number of the person calling you will automatically appear on your display screen. If you choose to answer the call, the number will remain on the screen until you or the caller hangs up. Notes If the letter "P" or private appears on your screen, the caller may have blocked the display of his or her number. You can choose whether or not to answer the call. If Out of area or unknown number appears, the caller is calling from an area or equipment where the information is not available. The callers information will not display if the caller has calling number delivery blocking. Does not work with calls originating from an area or long distance carrier where this feature is not provided or with 500 or 800
  • Do Not Disturb
    Do not disturb allows you to prevent incoming calls from ringing at your telephone. Only callers who have your Personal Identification Number (PIN) can override the do not disturb feature and ring your telephone. To activate do not disturb: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone. Press *78 (rotary phones dial 1178). Listen for three beeps. Hang up. To cancel do not disturb: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone. Press *79 (rotary phones dial 1179). Listen for three beeps. Hang up. To set or change your PIN: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone. Press*10 (rotary phones dial 1110). Listen for three beeps and a steady dial tone. Enter PIN (maximum 7 digits). Listen for 3 beeps. Hang up. Note: The selected PIN remains in storage unless you change or delete it. Deactivation of do not disturb will not erase your PIN. When do not disturb is activated, callers will receive a busy signal or an announcement. At this time, callers who know your PIN may dial it and ring your telephone.
  • Caller ID-Blocking per Line
    Per line blocking automatically prevents your number from being displayed to other customers of caller number delivery. You need to contact our office to have per line blocking installed on your line. If you have per line blocking on your telephone line and then decide that you want your number to be available to certain people that you call, you can turn off the blocking at no charge. To cancel per line blocking (allowing your number to be displayed on an individual call): Press *82 (rotary phones dial 1182), before placing the call. Residential Customers: A residential customer, who chooses to have per line blocking installed on their telephone line, will be charged a one-time service connection fee of $5.00. Business Customer: Per line blocking is available to law enforcement agencies, shelters for battered persons, and government agencies engaged in undercover operations. Per line blocking is not available to other business customers unless they can show that inadvertent disclosure of their number will risk harm to themselves, other persons, or property. Customers who disagree with Sytek Communications about their need for per line blocking may appeal in writing to the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission.
  • Anonymous Call Rejection
    Anonymous call rejection stops calls from those who are blocking their number when calling you. Anyone using one of the blocking options when calling you will hear an announcement that you do not accept anonymous calls, and they should remove blocking and call back. All other calls will ring through as usual. To activate anonymous call rejection: Lift the handset and listen for dial tone. Press *77 (rotary phones dial 1177). Listen for a confirmation tone or announcement. Hang up. To cancel anonymous call rejection: Press *87 (rotary phones dial 1187). Listen for a confirmation tone or announcement. Hang up.
  • Voice Mail
    Voice mail is an easy-to-use answering service that offers several advantages over answering machines. It allows incoming calls to be forwarded to your mailbox even when your phone line is busy. Optional features provide additional message and greeting capacity. To set-up VOICE MAIL from your home phone: Lift the handset and dial the voice mail access number 573-3333. When the prompt asks for your Personal Identification Number (PIN) enter 0000. Press #4 for personal options, this will enable you to do several things with your voice mail. Press 1 to change the personal identification number. IMPORTANT: Use a four-digit number you will remember. Press 3 to record a greeting/message to your callers. To set-up voice mail from another location: Lift the handset and dial the voice mail access number 573-3333. When the prompt asks for user box number, enter your home phone number 573-_________. When the prompt asks for your Personal Identification Number (PIN) enter 0000. Press #4 for personal options, this will enable you to do several things with your voice mail. Press #1 to change the personal identification number. IMPORTANT: Use a four-digit number you will remember. Press# 3 to record a greeting/message to your callers.
  • Toll Restriction with PIN
    Toll restriction with PIN - this feature is activated by the company at the customer's request. This feature allows the customer to prevent unauthorized persons from making long distance calls by requiring the caller to enter a PIN number when making a long distance call. The PIN number is selected by the Company and is given to the customer at the time of installation.
  • Getting your Messages from the voice mail
    From your home: Dial 573-3333 Enter your PIN number Press 1 to listen to your messages Then: Press 1 to save messages Press 2 to transfer messages* Press 3 to erase messages Press 7 to replay messages Press 8 to receive time/date message received Away from home: Dial 573-3333 Enter your home phone number Enter your PIN number Press 1 to listen to your messages then: Then: Press 1 to save messages Press 2 to transfer messages* Press 3 to erase messages Press 7 to replay messages Press 8 to receive time/date message received *Only available with multiple voice mail boxes When you lift your handset and hear a stutter tone before the dial tone, you have messages on your voice mail.
